Network Six is a role-play TV Network in which our members operate regional television franchises across the UK, as well as digital channels, production companies, independent distributers and more.
Network Six started its life as The APFS Network back in November 2003, created by Phil England and run by Mark McMillan on the popular 'Afternoon Programmes Follow Shortly' mocks site. In November 2005 the network restructured and rebranded as 6-Net, complete with a new, more regulated set of rules, run by Mark McMillan and Andy O'Brien. However these changes were not well received by the network community, which saw members leaving the network. Through a combination of members leaving, and members being unable to meet the franchise requirements, particularly those regarding the quality of graphics, 6 franchises ended up without operators, which lead to the downfall of the network. Following the 5 months of inactivity since the launch of 6-Net, APFS closed its doors for good, and the network was temporarily taken over by Phil England (its founder), before being given permanently to Orry Verducci in April 2006. Following the ownership change, the network was renamed Network Six and moved to its own dedicated website, where it continues to reside. The rules were also relaxed, and Rhys O'Sullivan was restored as Director of Television, having previously held this position on The APFS Network, before resigning during the transition to 6-Net. In September 2007, Rhys O'Sullivan resigned from his post as DofT, and following a public vote the position was given to Mark Jones.
