Please vote for who you would like to operate the East Anglia franchise. Your choices are:
- ETV (AE Group)
- Echo (Air Broadcasting)
- TVEast (Armada)
All votes must be in by Friday 5th February.
Please do not vote for yourself.
It makes it fairer for those who would not normally do so.
I didn't. Best of luck to the winner!
Does my ownership of 45% of the Air bid count in reference to voting for yourself?

Since its a high percentage I'd have thought it would possibly count as voting for yourself. Best to wait until Orry or Mark make a ruling.

No. And since you own 2 of the permitted 3 franchises, thats fine anyway.
The voting has been rectified for the participant who voted for themselves.
So is that a Yes to voting?

This is what I'm afraid of: a broadcaster offering a percentage of its shares to other companies partly in the hope of guaranteeing a vote from a shareholder in the franchise round. I hope this is not the case in the vast majority of the voting in each franchise area, but this is the impression I'm getting here in this thread.
I think the issue of cross-ownership should be addressed before the next franchise round, because if this can influence the voting, what chance do other wholly-owned companies and newcomers have?
This is not sour grapes due to me losing the vote at this time of posting, just a genuine concern.

Surely using that statement to justify allowing the vote indicates that it is effectively a vote for their own bid.
Wouldn't it be easier to say that if your company is indicated on the bid page as an owner of the franchise bid, you can't vote for it, for example, using the Echo bid information:
