RE: SixAM: discussion
I would strongly recommend shortening of the opt-out.

RE: SixAM: discussion
Well, after thinking I decided to change the schedule radically, mostly in terms of regional opt-outs. The hourly opt is no more, as it would be split into 5 'small' (local news, weather - as the existing broadcasters do) and 2 20-minute ones (doing the same thing as 7am opt-out would... if it was).

6.30-7.00

6.30 Open (timecheck, headlines, 'coming up...')
6.31 National News headlines
6.45 Opt-out to regions (local news, weather, 'coming up...')
6.53 Guests/reports
6.58 Weather (national)

7.00-8.00 (and 8.00-9.00)

.00 Open (timecheck, headlines, 'coming up...')
.01 National News headlines
.10 Opt-out to regions (you choose how to fill). Local weather at .58
.30 Rejoin (same as open)
.31 National News
.38 Newspaper review
.45 Opt-out to regions (local news, weather, 'coming up...')
.53 Guest/reports
.58 Weather (national)

9.00-9.25
9.00 Open (timecheck, headlines, 'coming up...')
9.01 National News headlines
9.10 Opt-out to regions (local news, weather, 'coming up...' and goodbye)
9.18 Newspaper review/Coming up on Six.../And Finally.../final guest/final report
9.24/5 Close; handover to regions.

In total: 2h55m of:
Local: 5x8min + 2x20 min = 40+40min = 1h40min
National: 2h55m - 1h40m = 1h15 min

Just a few words about...
programming: national news would be provided (probably) by Six News, other non-regional programming - by Londay Productions.
the first post:: it will be updated with sorted graphics.
Emerald Television's opt-out: will be called emerald:am. It will provide local news, weather, some local guests and some competitions.
Graphics for it follow shortly...

I still think some people will have a problem with more local than national content - I myself don't but as Jonny has said it can put a strain on some.

Perhaps any changes should be held back until the completion of the franchise round so all franchise holders can have their say, I don't want to be seen as speaking on anyone's behalf!

I think the revised schedule is more realistic but given the terms of the breakfast licence and from a purely practical point-of-view (I wholeheartedly agree with the more regional content on SIX the better ideology) I feel that there should be less of a burden beared by the regional franchise holders at the time of day, just my opinion though Toungue.

RE: SixAM: discussion
As I think the franchise round is over, I think we need to go back to discussion of new SixAM and how could it be handled in your region.

Meanwhile, [Image: th_logo.png] graphics promised some posts ago:

RE: SixAM: discussion
Well, the franchise round is over (expect the West), but there's nothing discussing.
I'm not asking for something immediate, but will there be any reaction?

RE: SixAM: discussion
Well, the last message is...

I'm SERIOUSLY (no shouting) asking for any reaction, solution (probably even without graphics/schedule). There are currently only 5 solutions (emerald1, scoTV, Six News Channel, Cautley and Lux (last two via PM)) posted. But SixAM, as you know, won't be broadcast in only five regions.

I'll set a month deadline (till 14.04.2010) and then - if there won't be anything at all, I'd give SixAM to AHL, which won it techically.

Please, try to try to do something!

If I win the west franchise, I will probably use something called "great westam" during the opt out.

RE: SixAM: discussion
Glyndwr is currently working on the regional breakfast slots, still working on a title for it and also whether any Welsh-language features will be introduced. But in principle I think having the regional slots is a good idea, since I haven't voiced my opinion before about this.

And besides, Six:am will be broadcasting in all regions regardless of whether they post any details about it because its a compulsory element of the schedule. The forum normally starts to quieten down around this time of year anyway so please be patient German.

RE: SixAM: discussion
Well, I was understanding that SixAM is broadcasting in all regions. I wanted just to note it's a business which matters for everyone.
