EG Media (EG) is a media company based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
Formed in 1949, the company began printing a local newspaper to Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire known as "The Spire Times". In the late 1950s plans where set to introduce a local radio station for the Chesterfield area, EGBC began bid applications to broadcast a radio station. In 1959 it was announced that EGBC had won the right to broadcast a local radio station, the news made front page of "The Spire Times", the paper had a regular column detailing EGBC plans for the radio station and its eventual launch. "Spire Radio" launched in May 1961.

- 1949: Ever Great Broadcasting Corporation Media begins printing the local newspaper "The Spire Times" to Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire.
- 1960: May: EGBC Media begins radio transmissions of "Spire Radio" from the Chesterfield Transmitter.
- 1960: EGBC Media changes its name to EGBC
- 2001: EGBC changes its name to EG Broadcasting (EG)
- 2008: December: EG announces its intentions of bidding in Network Six's 2009 franchise round.
- 2009: January: EG submits three bids to Network Six to broadcast to North West England (NWR), South West England (SWT) and the Border region (Biom).
- 2009: January: NWR is announced the winner of the 2009 franchise round for the North West of England.
- 2009: February: Biom is unchallenged and so automatically wins the 2009 franchise round for the Border region.
- 2009: February: SWT fails to win the South West 2009 franchise round losing out by 1 vote to Western.
- 2010: January: NWR is unchallenged and so automatically wins the 2010 franchise round for the North West region.
- 2010: January: EG announces its intentions to rebrand 'Biom' into 'ES' if it wins the 2010 franchise round for the Border region.
- 2010: February: Biom is unchallenged and so automatically wins the 2010 franchise round for the Border region. Thus
