[edit] History
- Further information: History of Londay Television
Londay Television was formed in 1989, as a consortium of local producers and newspapers. In its time, it has operated the ITV1 London Weekend franchise, as well as bought London Weekend Television, its weekend counterpart. In January 2008, it did cause a dispute, which caused the creation of generic ITV1 service for London, as both Londay Televison and LWT refused to continue operations on channel 3.
[edit] Identity
After the Londay re-brand in 1993, the main symbol which was identifying the company was the 'L' cut-out shape, either put in one strap with the text, or above the text. The 'second' style was dropped in 1999 because it was unsuitable for ITV generic branding of this time. In 2009 temporary branding the shape was out, replaced by text-only logo. In March 2009, the company reverted to 1993 styles.
