[edit] History
The Super Broadcasting Company initially won the licence for the Northern Ireland franchise on 1 November 2005 during the 6-Net administration of the network. Preveously the franchise was held by first by TV4U and from January 2005 by The New NI.
In 2007 the franchise was re-awarded to SBC, along with it's sister SBC Northern Ireland services. Under new network rules both the radio service, SBC 96.5 and SBC Two both had to be approved by the Sixth Channel Authority in January 2007.[1]
In the 2009 franchise round, SBC One's license to broadcast to Northern Ireland was won by emerald1, who took over the franchise in March 2009.
