Six News (alternatively SIX News) is the franchisee for national network news from March 2009. Run by Aquidia Holdings Limited, it broadcasts multiple times per day from a network of locations. Legally the name of SIX News is AHL (SIX News) Limited.

Bulletins are shown at:

  • 6:00AM - Six News Early Edition
  • 6:30AM - Six AM
  • 1:30PM - Six News Lunchtime Edition
  • 5:30PM - Six News Evening Edition
  • 10:00PM - Six News Late Edition

The schedule differs on weekends. The 5:30 edition was to be called "Nightly Edition" however this caused confusion with the Late Edition.

[edit] Six News Channel

A national digital rolling news mulichannel was launched soon after on the 18th of March, initially in a testing mode, and with full service later. The Six News Channel replaced ftv News on the Cable4 service at 12:00PM when full service was launched. It is simulcast in East Scotland and the Channel Islands as a radio service. The service features crosses all around the country to various news centres.

The Six News Channel service is provided in an audio-only version to be broadcast as a radio channel. Segments unsuitable for radio are replaced with radio-only alternatives (usually rolling news) provided live from the AHL studios.

Currently this service only operates as a very low bitrate (32kbps) test via DAB near Aberdeen.
