The Act One Company Presents
From Network Six Wiki
The One Act Company Presents is a hybrid reality series and live theatre programme, produced by TotalAccess Television. It will air during the spring of 2009, and be offered on a time-delay basis to Network Six during the next commissioning round.
The format is a unique experiment in televised theatre. A troupe of actors has agreed to spend eighteen weeks learning condensed versions of three culturally significant plays, and performing them to a nationwide audience. Each 'segment' of the series concentrates on one play, with the first five episodes of each dedicated to covering one week of the staging and production of the play. The sixth episode of each segment is the finished performance, with only one commercial interruption, bookended with commentary by a panel of noted Broadway and West End actors. This series can air in its entirety, or per segment, according to Network schedule needs. It is available in high definition and with descriptive audio.
